Why and how did you come to practice yoga? 
Once upon a time, on a very cold Winter’s day in Chicago, I walked myself to my first Bikram Yoga class (and first class ever) per the recommendation of my roommate. I remember how warm and full of inspiration I felt as I made the trek home. I was hooked. Since then I’ve popped in and out of various classes at various studios in various cities. Anjali is the first studio I’ve dedicated to my yoga practice and it’s truly been a remarkable time in my life of personal growth on and off the mat.
What does your practice mean to you? 
My practice has shown me physical and emotional strength that I had hidden away for a rainy day or forgot about altogether. Yoga is a place where I am endlessly learning about all of the twists and turns of my body and mind. I can go to class with a whirlwind in my head and leave feeling comforted and confident. I’m most excited about my yoga future. Where will it all lead? I can’t wait to find out!
What would you like to tell others about the practice of yoga? 
The practice of yoga is best described in one of my favorite quotes:
“We’re both looking at the same moon, in the same world. We’re connected to reality by the same line. All I have to do is quietly draw it towards me.”
We all come to class and in those moments all the humans that are gathered in the same room have arrived for their own reasons at their own time, but WE are all there together; learning, growing, breathing, being challenged, letting go or at times holding on. WE are using all of our individual energies to ignite the person next to us, the teacher and ourselves, connecting us in those moments of practice.
